Who are you?

My name is Kristen and I currently live in Yokosuka Japan. After a frustrating search for a website that would recommend and review underground podcasts, I gave up and created my own.

What is your quest?

I am on a quest to find the most perfect underground geek podcasts. I find, listen to, and rate various geek related podcasts.

What are your criteria?

1- Must be geek related. You know, the usual comics, TV, movies, superhero cartoons, etc. I'm not really looking for tech related podcasts or product related podcasts no matter how geeky the product or technology...

2- Must work from a limited script. Anything obviously scripted or with over used WILD and ZANY sound effects is going to get a big thumbs down.

3 - Format should be more of a "Hey we're friends and we're having a conversation and you're listening in..." instead of, "This is NPR and we're going to report to you."

4 - I prefer REALLY underground podcasts. I am looking to listen to podcasts that have less then 500 Facebook fans or Twitter followers and even then 500 is almost too many for my tastes. I want to get away from the mainstream and popular and see what's out there that is undiscovered and fresh. Kudos to all those podcasters that worked very hard to market and build your podcast into huge fan base. I'm sure your podcasts are superb, but I prefer a more quiet crowd.

5 - Must have a Facebook fan page or Twitter otherwise 1) how the heck are you advertising and 2) how can I have some quantitive way to tell how big or small your fan base is?

6 - Must post podcasts regularly. Sorry, I'm not going to review or even listen to you if your last podcast was made in December of 2005. Maybe as a tribute or something.

How often do you update?

Since I'm like every other person in this world -- busy -- I try to listen to one new podcast a week. Sometimes I'll do more, but never less than once a week unless I'm on a break.

What makes you qualified to review podcasts?

Um, let's see. I have ears, I know what I like to hear, I like comics, movies, etc...other than that, nothing. I'm just a person trying to become a fan of a few good podcasts.

Will you listen to and review my podcast?

Sure, send a link to your website and Facebook fan page.

Is it legal?

I'm not into slander and name calling. Only my honest opinions here. And duh, reviewing stuff is legal, otherwise Roger Egbert would in jail for the rest of his life. However, if you want me to take something down, let me know. But remember, any press is good press.

You made a critical comment and now I think my butt hurts, can you help?

Nope. You put the podcast out there so stand up and take the good with the bad.

Where do you get the information you post?

The information comes directly from podcast websites, Facebook pages, and descriptions. So, if something on your end isn't accurate, it probably won't be over here either. With that said, I do make mistakes because I wasn't born perfect, so if there's details that need to be corrected, leave a comment and I'll fix it right up!
